David Matta is one of Quill’s sound editors and technical producers.

Pursing a love of music and sound at 18, David started at Ryerson’s RTA School of Media, and after graduating, he got his professional start as an intern and later an engineer at Orange Lounge Studios, where he worked on everything from podcasts and music to TV shows and commercials.

In 2020 he spent some time touring as a drum tech for The Beaches, and started working as a studio engineer before the pandemic hit. Wanting to find a way to pursue audio from home, David got into podcast editing. Now when he’s not creating podcast magic for Quill, he’s working as a studio assistant, busking with his band, or finding a quiet spot to do some fishing.
